Connecting Revial to your AI assistant (MCP)
Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client about your meetings — read-only, signed in with your own Revial account, set up in a couple of minutes.
The Revial MCP server lets the AI assistant you already use read your Revial meeting data. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that AI clients — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others — use to connect to outside data.
Connect once, then ask about your meetings in plain language. The assistant queries Revial for you and answers from your own data, with links back to the meeting pages.
The connection is read-only. The assistant cannot change or delete anything in Revial.
Server URL: https://mcp.revial.ai/mcp
Requirements
- A Revial account that belongs to at least one team.
- The team must be on the Analytics plan (or an active trial or Enterprise agreement that includes it). On other plans you can still connect, but meeting questions return an error saying the team is not entitled to the feature. See Plans.
- An MCP-capable AI client.
Every role can connect, including Member. You do not need to be an admin, and an administrator does not need to switch anything on — each user connects and approves access for themselves. Your role decides what the assistant gets back, not whether you can connect at all. See What the assistant can see.
What you can ask
- "What did we discuss with Acme last week?"
- "Prepare me for tomorrow's meeting with Normet."
- "What objections came up most often this quarter?"
- "Show me all meetings with a lead score above 70 in August."
- "Summarise the pain points our customers mentioned this month."
- "What is the proposal status for my last 10 meetings?"
Available tools
Your assistant picks the right tool on its own — you never call these by name.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_teams | Lists the Revial teams you belong to, and which one is active. |
get_meetings | Lists your upcoming meetings, and which of them have a pre-meeting briefing. |
list_past_meetings | Lists completed meetings with analytics — lead score, BANT, sentiment, objections, topics, host, proposal status. Filters by date, client, contact, teammate or lead temperature. |
get_meeting_details | Full detail for up to 5 meetings: summary, decisions, action items, speakers, BANT, risks, relationship health, competitive intelligence, pain points, opportunities and the pre-meeting briefing. |
get_transcript | The word-for-word transcript of one meeting, a page at a time. |
search_meeting_context | Searches what was said across your meetings — for topic questions when you don't know which meetings are relevant. Returns matching passages. |
analyze_meetings | Answers broad questions that need many meetings at once, such as trends across a quarter. |
get_client_history | Every earlier meeting with one client or contact, with briefings and summaries. |
ask_deal | Answers a question about one deal by reading every meeting recorded against it. |
get_playbook | Reads your team's sales playbooks — ideal customer, value promise and proof, competitors, what makes you different — so answers can be read against how you sell. |
search_web_about_company | Public web research about a company, for meeting preparation. B2B teams only. |
search_docs | Searches this documentation site. |
Set it up
Setup uses OAuth: you sign in to Revial in your browser and approve the connection. No API key is created and your password is never given to the AI client.
Claude (web, desktop)
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Select Add custom connector.
- Enter the URL
https://mcp.revial.ai/mcp. - Select Add, then Connect.
- A browser window opens. Sign in to Revial if you aren't already.
- Read the consent screen and select Approve.
- You are returned to Claude, and the Revial tools are available.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http revial https://mcp.revial.ai/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code and follow the sign-in prompt.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode and turn it on.
- Select Create and enter the URL
https://mcp.revial.ai/mcp. - Sign in to Revial in the browser and approve the connection.
Cursor, VS Code and other clients
Add the server to your client's MCP configuration file. Most clients use this format:
{
"mcpServers": {
"revial": {
"url": "https://mcp.revial.ai/mcp"
}
}
}Restart the client. It opens a browser window for sign-in the first time the server is used.
AI clients change their settings menus often. If a menu path above doesn't match what you see, look for "connectors", "integrations" or "MCP servers" in your client's settings.
Check that it works
Ask "list my Revial teams". If the assistant answers with your teams, the connection works.
What the assistant can see
Your role decides what comes back — see roles.
- A Member sees only their own meetings. Whenever the assistant lists, searches or analyses meetings, a Member gets the meetings they ran. Owners, admins, viewers and sales directors get the whole team's.
- This is stricter than the meeting list in Revial itself. In most organisations a Member browsing Revial in a browser also sees teammates' meetings. Through an AI assistant they do not: searches, summaries and trends cover their own meetings only. If a colleague's meeting is missing from an answer, this is usually why.
- Opening one specific meeting follows the app's rules instead. If a Member can open a teammate's meeting in Revial, the assistant can read that meeting and its transcript once it has the meeting in hand — for example from a link you paste. Internal meetings are narrower still: they reach the people who ran or attended them, plus anyone the meeting was shared with or opened up to the team.
- Asking for a teammate by name works only for team-wide roles. What a
Member gets back depends on the tool:
- Meeting lists (
list_past_meetings,get_meetings) ignore the name and return the Member's own meetings, with a note saying the results were scoped to them. - Meeting search (
search_meeting_context) and trend analysis (analyze_meetings) return no results. They answer with an error telling the assistant to drop the teammate's name and retry; the retry covers only the Member's own meetings.
- Meeting lists (
- Per-rep coaching scores are shown only to owners, admins and sales directors.
- Deal questions (
ask_deal) read every meeting on the deal, across the team. If your organisation limits members to their own meetings, only team-wide roles can use it. - More than one team? The assistant uses your active team. Say "use team X" to point a question at another team.
- Transcripts. Meeting search returns only the short passages that match your question. A full, word-for-word transcript is returned only when the assistant asks for one specific meeting you can already open.
Security
- OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Your Revial password never reaches the AI client.
- Read-only. No tool writes, changes or deletes Revial data.
- Short-lived access. Access tokens expire after 1 hour and are refreshed by your client. The connection lapses completely after 30 days without use, and you sign in again.
- Rate limits. 60 requests a minute per user, and 20 a minute per user per AI client.
Web research and the AI-based analysis tools send your question to the same AI and search providers the Revial app uses. See the security FAQ.
To disconnect, remove the connector in your AI client.
Troubleshooting
"No active team found for user …" — your account has no team membership. Ask your administrator to add you to a team.
"Team … is not entitled to the Analytics feature" — your team's plan doesn't include the MCP server. Talk to your administrator about the Analytics plan.
The assistant can't find a meeting — check the meeting is in Revial and that your role lets you see it. If you are a Member, the assistant searches your own meetings only, even when you can see a teammate's meeting in Revial itself.
Sign-in loops, or the browser doesn't return you to the client — allow pop-ups, then remove the connector and add it again.
"Too many requests" / HTTP 429 — you've hit the rate limit. Wait a minute and try again.
